To the best of my knowledge the paint is original. I'm torn between leaving the paint as-is and adding a good coat of wax for that preserve look, or repainting. If I repaint, I 'd like to keep it the original combination. Does anyone know if the Burbs were originally all one color and the white was added later where you wanted it? Mine just has white on the roof, but I've seen pics of others where almost half the Burb is white and seems to look sharper! I'm sure they 2 toned them. Personally I can't understand why some people worry about keeping old patina ie original paint, and cut the &^%$# out of the frame to lower the truck? Not saying you are one, I just thought of it.

I think I'll probably first just address the rust issues, order some matching touchup where it needs it, give it a good wax job and see how it looks. I'm planning on putting my Dad's 50 year old Grumman canoe on top, which has a paint job just as bad, so I might just end up with a winning combination that will get a lot of looks! That combination for the one shown for 1960 is really interesting. From the side and at first glance you don't notice the dark on the upper back and it resembles a standard pickup!
