as original for all 3100 trucks:
rear - Monroe "Limited Edition" LE10018 [pair] or Gabriel 82060
front - Monroe 3100 [each] or Gabriel 82047
shock mount bolts - Monroe #AK 32

"modern"? like gas struts or air bags or coil-overs or something? shocks are shocks, those are the current production of the correct length and fittings for stock trucks, they do the job as designed

If you have stock suspension, you have leaf springs all around. They ride like a truck. Shocks control roll, pitch and yaw. Use any of those listed or $24.95 stock shocks from one of our sponsors. You don't need any more modern than that. According to Monroe, shocks control:
Bounce
Roll or sway
Brake dive
Acceleration squat
