I have been "A pain in the rear" to many of you thru the years!
Today , After replacing a 216 splasher with 1958 Chevy car engine into my 51 one ton truck I think I have solved the very last of the obstiical"s this transfer could make. When I tried to educate myself to what I was taking on,With my LIMITED ENGINE experience, I VERY often sought advice here and over at Classic Parts!

I HAVE NOT met one of these "Bolters" who would purposely steer you in wrong direction! THANK YOU to every one who has assisted me and BEST of luck on whatever you are building!!! Jerry

You are not alone. We all lean on each other a little. I like it when questions are asked. Usually I learn something interesting I did not know. In any case," You're welcome." smile

I also echo Jerry's sentiment , I am on here sporadically and have always got good advice . Even across the pond from jock bolter when we invaded his country.

OK Guys, WHAT a weekend! After solving few last problems Friday night, June 28 and early Sat morning, My Wrench Bender, 16 yr old neighbor and I treated ourselves to taking the BEAST to a car show in Springfield MN, about 22 miles from home. She purred like a kitten until I put my foot thru the carb. Then it sounded like that Mad Female Cat IN HEAT, thru the straight pipes installed. Oil pressure gauge stayed pegged at the gauge limit of 30 lbs, The temp stayed at the thermostat-ed 180 degrees, no oil, coolant leaks and only a small drip of gas from the carb inlet. Same smooth return trip home. Guys, I am so HAPPY with my transplanted 235 vs 216 I could just $hit! My Wrench bender helper said, I have an idea, MAYBE I can use your truck for transportation for my date to prom IN 2 years! I told him "I hear you and IF you play your cards right You have a deal! Again thanks for your help.Jerry

Oh, By the way, Even if I still don't know $hit, I learned a whole lot and I have retained much of that learning. If you are doing a similar transplant and have a question about something, do Not be afraid to give me a shout and i will share any info that I know and will assist you in finding answers that I do not know. One main thing I discovered is that with these old girls (216s and 235's)they are near bullet proof and the ONLY Thing to FEAR when working on them is fear itself and most of the stuff you worry about just does NOT happen. It takes a VERY smart ID10T to screw them up Jerry

I have an idea. Kinda like the "wrench bender" did.
Since he or she is 16 yr old, maybe its time to have their own
truck. And you and wrench bender could spend the next 2 years getting it ready for the big prom. So its time to keep an eye out for project number 2.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

Wrench Bender has his own project. He was given by his dad a 1995 ferd F150 when he got his Minnesota "Farm" Drivers License.
Not to worry Truckerlet, I am never done. There are still item in need of repair on The Beast and behind the shed is a 1946 2 ton. I have made a commitment this summer to purchase another 1951 one ton and was met at the car show on Saturday that I should come and look at and make offer to PURCHASE a 1950 GMC 1 ton which last ran in 2005. It is a 5 window cab, chrome grill and a CLEAR TITLE . That would be an interesting challenge learning the GMC The lady who owned it said it has been stored inside a building since parked and her husband said the only damage he knew of on it was a door had been struck with a piece of farm machinery but was repaired. Wish me luck on that one, I told them I wanted to buy it and would come look with checkbook in hand.
