Attended the BTT50 Fortieth anniv. show in St. Paul this past week's end. Rumor has it that there were about 12,000 vehicles under 1964 vintage on display. Gotta say that I think there were more AD Chevy PU's there than just about any other vehicle. Wish I had brought along a counter to click them as I saw them just to keep track!
Anyway, These products may have been discussed here before, but I saw a really cool "lift system" from Kwik-Lift (
www.Kwik-lift.com) from OK. You set one end up on it's support arms, drive your vehicle up on it's 19" wide ramps and then jack the back up on a rotating crossbar with a floor jack to 20" and drop the back support legs. Now you have a super solid work platform that allows you to slide in and out on a reclining creeper. Now your vehicle is elevated about 25-30" off the floor level allowing pretty easy access for most under chassis work.
Another cool product line is the Auto Twirler rotisserie pivot that allows you to work on body parts at an elevated level.
