Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 | I figured I'd better just jump in and try to post a pic of my 60 Burb 4x4. Hope it comes out ok and if doing something wrong don't hesitate to let me know. I'm just starting this project and want to be able to share the progress. http://s1279.photobucket.com/albums...zpsbbfdc3ef.jpg&evt=user_media_share | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 99 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 99 | Azburb, Your picture link is working right, that's a cool truck. 283? is that 4x4 shifter stock? and is that aftermarket Air Conditioning?

Will have figure out how to send just a couple at a time! Anyway, now you can see all the parts, etc that came in the tool box with it. He packed all the extra parts in case he broke down on the back roads of Alaska. It also came with 2 original 1960 chevy truck parts books.
Not a 283. It's a 327 with 4-barrel he had put in. Was by first owner, who's now passed, so know over 20 year ago, but am trying to find out. 2nd owner still alive. The 4x4 shifter is stock. Re the air, The second (a hunting partner of the first, and last owner before me) says it was in the Burb as long as he can remember. It's a Climatic Air by Royal, or a Royal by Climatic Air? I've tried searching for info on it on Internet, but can't find any info. Someone said it was. Texas company but can't find anything solid.

I say let's head to Alaska! | | | | | Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 | Alaska would sure the AZ heat this time of year. I think I'm starting to get hang of Photobucket. Think I originally downloaded everything from vacation and granddaughter pics to old home pics. Hope I finally got it down to the Burb! | | | | | Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 162 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 162 | That is a really cool 'Burb! I would leave it exactly the way it is! We all wear our history on our sleeve and that thing has awesome sleeves! Good luck with it! | | | | | Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 | Thanks Cooffeeman. I'm planning on giving the outside a good coat of wax and leaving the original paint for that "preserved" look. My wife says the inside got to be comfortable though, so here comes the new upholstery! I've put on all new brakes, fuel pump and gas lines. Nearest gas station is 21 miles, so still getting the bugs out before getting too far from the cabin! Also need all new glass. Lots of fun! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,363 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 1,363 | The fan shroud is the same found on 1958 and 59 TF V8 Trucks. I rode in one of them in 4x4 mode in 1960, same color too, my first time in a vehicle with gear shifters in the floor, I was a youngen then. I wish they would have kept the A pillar,(windsheild pillar) leaned forward like that into the 66 model years, nice look to it. If you figure out how to clean the rust inside and not ruin the original paint, let me know. Yours may be too far rusted and need new paint in the interior.

I'm no painter (yet) but am looking at all the youtube instruction videos to see how best to go about it! Don' think we'll be winning any car shows, but turns a lot of heads just because of the 60/61 shape! Can't help but like a stray! Ha I'm now looking for a new front window. We're in Orange,CA for a few days so going to the Truck Shop. They show them in their catalog, but pricey. We'll see. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2013 Posts: 10 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2013 Posts: 10 | I watched the Photobucket Slide Show of your truck....thanks for doing a great job on the photos. Like the others, I would like to see you keep the exterior original, but keep the wife happy by "updating" (cleaning) the inside. :O) | | | | | Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2013 Posts: 52 | Sounds like a new inside is coming! Power washed the inside since a lot of the pics, but a lot to go. Still learning Photobucket, and went back and added some captions that explains the pics a little better on some. Guess best steps are to pull the windows, paint the inside, put new windows in, and then upholstery and some bling for the wife! Neighbor is 35 year chevy mechanic and handling the mechanical, but runs pretty good.
