When the right signal is on and flashing, the left is too. Left signal does not affect right and both fronts operate normally. Ck'd w/ VOM at rear bumper area plug,,,, Problem is ahead of that.. right now have no st wheel puller, but suspect elect contact bridging under st wheel.... any other ideas? Also will a stock 350 temp sender operate the dash gauge correctly on this pu? orig. engine was a 283 I believe...'Thanks!

Since the left flashes when the right is on, the wire from the right must be connecting to the left somewhere.

Turn on the tail lights, then step on the brake, does the right side go out, and the left side works? If so then its the Ground. If both side light up with the tail lights on and stop lights, then yes it could be a bad switch. If the wires were shorted out some place then if would do the same both ways. | | |

Try running a tempory wire from the battery negative terminal to the frame of the right tail light to eliminate any chance of a bad ground. Easy to try and it will eliminate a lot of guesswork.
