Truck is painted and ready for re assembly. I'm using the truck manual but for the bolts nuts and washers it shows CHEVROLET part numbers, not sizes. Anybody have a conversion list of part numbers to sizes? I'm using trial and error for now. Thanks for your help!

Goal: to finish by year end drive

I haven't found a source that defines ALL bolt sizes based on GM part numbers. I have found SOME sites that list SOME bolts, but not all. It takes some detective work and some trial and error.

Unfortunately, the fastener part numbers listed in "Standard Parts" (group 8.899+) in the Master Parts Catalog usually don't match the numbers in the Factory Assembly Manual. Some do / some don't. But it's a good place to start.

I see that the link to GMPartsWiki in the post is broken. Don't know if the site is down temporarily, or if is no longer available.

If you can't determine the correct fastener size, then post a question - go with the answer that you feel is best.

My question is where do you find those little barbie doll bolts with the tall heads that hold the U-joint clamps on a torque tube set up. I have an extra set, but I have always wondered where you would get them, I tried a regular bolt once, but they kind of need that tall, skinny head....

Chevs of the 40s now sells these bolt in a set.

Classic Parts sells these - they are not like the original bolt. They used to sell a bolt like the original but it was quite expensive. You should use new clips

Jim Carter still sells the original style bolt and it is appropriately expensive. He will probably stop selling it because people are will to buy the cheaper style. locking clips

As Classic Parts states, use a thread locker compound and a lock plate to assure the bolt will not come loose.
