I followed the tech tips but it does not address the issue of how to remove the door handle lever from the striker. Any suggestions?

The actual striker is attached to the lever plus the three screws. How do you unattach it from the lever. On the tech page it only talks about the 3 screws that hold the striker and the 2 window channel screws, but no mention that the lever is also attched to the striker

If I'm understanding you you want to take the striker (3 screws holding it to door) off the actuating arm coming from the handle (interior)? If so rotate it around the squared (but actually egg shaped with square corners) about 180 degrees or so. It only fits over the head of the post one way. (at least thats how mine is)
