Hello everybody, I know this has probably been asked a thousnd times, but I'm new here and have seen too many different answers to this. I have a 61 c-10, 2wd with a 235, 4 speed with the hydraulic clutch. Now I want to install a 1962 (looked up numbers) 327 in place of the six and want to know if I can use the 235 bell housing? If not what bell housing can I use to keep the same hyd. Clutch setup? Also on the motor mounts, I've read that you can use the steel brackets from later year trucks but you have to use a spacer because of the difference in the frame rails. Any info on this would be helpful and appreciated, thanks, apache c-10.

The 235 bell housing will not work on any V-8. If you wish to retain the hydraulic clutch you will need a V-8 bell housing from a 60-62 truck which used the hydraulic application. GM reverted back to manual clutch linkage in 63. I understand the hydraulic bell housings are scarce but someone on this site may have one. There are numerous aftermarket suppliers that offer engine mount cross members and kits. That would probably be cheaper & easier than finding other parts and having to modify them.
