A variation on a recent thread: what's the value of a rebuilt 261? Let's say rebuilt to pretty much stock.

4OnTheFloor, I'm considering upping my 235 to a 261. I heard of one rebuilt, but don't know the particulars, for about $800 and was wondering if that was in the ballpark or not.

If it is truly a 261, and it is fully rebuilt $800.00 does not sound to bad to me!!! It for sure gonna cost you that much anyway if not more. That's my 2 cents worth!! Thanks Mick Inniss

Like Mick said, if it's a true 261 and was rebuilt, fully, within the last couple years, with not that many miles on it after the rebuild, then yeah, that sounds about right. If it was just rebuilt and hasn't been used yet, even better but check it out carefully to make sure everything was done right, depending on what was done to it of course.
