I have a 1954 Gmc 5 window long bed I am attempting to restore for my 5 year old son. It had a 4 speed in it originally. I would like to put a hydro matic in it. I have since purchased a rolling chassis with a motor and tranny and rear axle. It is a short bed. Right now I am stuck. I would like to put the hydromantic on the long bed frame and convert it to disc brakes. I would like to also like to have either the motor in the roller or the one that came out of the long bed rebuilt. Like I said I am at a point and stuck. The frame and tranny and disc conversion I don’t want to tackle that myself. Willing to send out to get done. I have attached pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What are your questions (or, what are you stuck on)?
If you have a 1954 GMC short-bed Hydra-Matic drive train (in the "donor" truck), it is a fully enclosed drive shaft. Is this correct?
I do not know about a GMC 1/2 ton long-bed, but if it is the same drive-train as used in a 1954 GMC 3/4 ton, it has an open drive shaft. Is this correct?
