Weeds,
Do you have any pics of those latches. Their website says these are bolt on and no welding. Is there any cutting needed. I have been lusting for the Bearclaw latches but am not ready to cut and weld and repaint yet.

Finished the driver side parking brake Replacement and adjusted brake. Flushed brakes. Had a great test ride. First time since I inherited this truck that the parking brakes will hold the truck in place on a slope!

On the 3600 that is.

Found out that I might be able to use my distributor. Added power steering fluid, added anti-freeze. Found some leaks, took care of those. Tried the 90* intake elbow.

Finally got the possible replacement 235 for my 37 in the garage, its been covered up behind the garage since last fall and now inside so I can now make a stand to fire it up on. Its supposed to have less the 20,000 miles on it but I have doubts so I want to hear it run

My Mom and Dad visited for the weekend and the project was to recover the seat and door panels on my '51 3100. The old cover was ok but not really that orignal looking. My dad has done upholstery work as a hobby for 40 years so he taught me some of his tricks. A great weekend with Dad and I think the project turned out pretty good. Will continue to spruce up the interior in little stages. Here is a link to an album showing the project.

kennycj, I know the feeling, I spent most of the weekend working with my son installing a Painless Wiring Harness on the '37 hotrod. We don't get to work together much anymore so it was a good couple of days.

Finally got my finger out and did the P/S door seal, got the door back on just as the 'liquid sunshine' started....
That's the cab all buttoned up with all new seals etc,it's pleasantly quiet, rattle, draught free and refined for a 63 year old.

Thanks for the information on the door latches John. I believe this is what I've been looking for and a should be a release for all that frustration and extra trouble rolling down the windows to shut the doors.
Glad to see you're among the living. I was beginning to wonder if you had been promoted to that Stovebolt wrecking yard up there.

New steering wheel.

You've been busy, looking good. I'll inquire over on the HAMB and see if I can find the YouTube of that install.

It rained ALL weekend of the Geraldine trip and the camper leaked a bit. So I re-rivited the roof and sealed some of the siding, yet to be tested .
Also I changed the too hard Monroe Shocks for some cheapo KYB gas shocks for better ride comfort. Seems to be working .

Got all of the random parts left off my frame. Ready to roll outside for a degrease job with dollar store oven cleaner (don't want to worry about the lye on the concrete shop floor)

I also broke loose all of the cross pins that retain the shackle bolt in the rear springs. i expected these to be a bear but they came really easy. nuts spun right off and then i put the nut back on to protect the threads and used a drift to knock the tapered bolt back out. Left them in loose so I can roll the frame out and them remove the rear axle easily.

now debating between wire-wheel myself or getting the frame blasted for I think $200 or so...

Took it to work so I can get some stuff done there. Welded up the idler pulley bracket in place. Removed it, finished welding it, painted it, re-installed it. Found the radiator leak. It was the lower hose clamp. Re-positioned it and tightened. Pressure tested the cooling system to 15lbs. No leaks. Cleaned the distributor clamp.

I have a lot of little "5 minute" jobs but I'm getting close to firing it for the first time. You'll know I'm serious when I pour gas in the tank!!

I'm with Jim on that one Tj,it depends on how much you value your own labour,it's fairly time consuming plus you don't have to deal with the mess!

Anzan and metal shaper, I was looking at your pics. Nice trucks. Thanks for linking those albums. Everytime I look at other trucks in progress it motivates me to do mine. I have to finish off the garage I'm building first, but I must have less than a month to go.

My alternator took a dump yesterday, one downside of living in the UK,I can't just pop down to the local FLAPS and get a new one,or bearings, heck the guy couldn't even cross refer a fan belt number so what chance have I got?

Paul, thanks for the compliment! Looked at your 48 and she looks to have the big wheels. Sure looks good! My 41 GMC 2 ton has the big wheels too, 225/20's but she's a project I have yet to start.

Back to my 46. Was figuring on a two bellcrank throttle system but might get by with a simple right angle single bellcrank. Will play with that today.
