I am moving my gas tank to under the bed behind the rear end. Does anyone know if a tank for the 47 & up trucks would fit? I would like something low profile so it wouldn't be readily noticeable.

Id like to know that also, because I wanna move my gas tank to the back of my 46

I installed a low profile tank in front of the third member 18 gallon aluminum tank, Nice pictures, did you redrill the steel rims

no, I have an s-10 rear under the back end and I switched the front to 5 lug

I used a 49-52 chevy car poly tank I believe it came from Chevy of the 40's.

the 35-6 truck should fit holds about 17 gal cost about $225 they are about 36x17x7

I went with Gman's advice and used the 49 chevy poly tank, got it installed last night. It tucks under the rear crossmember nicely.

Fits well doesn't it? Post pictures of progress.

Thank fit's in there nicely. did you get it from chevys of the 40's? Do you have a link to the one you got?

I got it from Tanks Inc in Iowa. Actually ordered two different ones, as I was not sure which would work better, and returned the one I didn't need. They were great to work with.
