With a 160 thermostat the gauge reads in the middle, with a 180 thermostat it reads all the way over to the hot side(needle not buried). Does anybody know of a part# of a temp. sender from a local parts store, that would be more accurate?

The older I get the more dangerous I am!!!!! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | there isn't any difference among senders if they're not defective, but NAPA #TS6469 is what you want ... the "problem" is the gauge, they're not precision instruments, just meant to warn of sudden deviation from "normal" - you need to check actual temps around the rad in and out to compare so you know what the gauge is telling you - if it's reading too close to the top when things are right you might try carefully bending the needle back a bit
