For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 16 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 16 | I just finished off the above and thought I should share. I did search the forums and found the info a bit lean. So here is what I did.
I converted over to 12v, and shortly there after starter went out. I found a 12v starter with 9 tooth gear for my 139 tooth flywheel from Carquest. I am running the 4spd sm420 tranny with a 11" clutch. After I had the flywheel machined my new clutch went in. I got this from O'Reilly, SACH's part# K5473-01. I really didn't think much about it but I would think about changing the clutch fork and ball joint if you have everything off.
I hope this helps someone at some point. I have certainly gotten a lot of help from the Stovebolt gang.
Thanks.
