Here is my problem. My 66 C-30 has solid metallic bushings and grease-able pins. My pins are solid but just a little dimpled from rust. The pins are held in place by a bolt perpendicular to the pin.

From 67 on (AIUI), there was a change to rubber with steel inner and outer sleeves. The newer leafs are a couple of inches longer and use a different hanger. They attach with grade 8 bolts and are not grease-able.

Shirely, someone has walked this weary road?

1. I think I have found bearing suppliers that can provide bushings to my specs, not pins.
2. I could have a new hanging leaf (of the correct length) with an eye bent to use the more modern "rubber" bushings and use a grade 8 bolt on the old hangers.
3. I could cut off the old and hang a set of 73 hangers allowing the use of 73-87 rear leaf springs.

Choices, choices. Does anyone have suggestions/experience?

Dave, thanks for any replies.

Dave,

Get ahold of Mike at Detroit Eaton Spring. They were a supplier to the OEMs and had everything I needed for my 51.
