Hey all..I am buying a 40 Chevy 3/4ton with a factory flatbed tomorrow.
it is very solid and complete, just a little rust on door bottoms.
totally untouched and needs a total resto.
he's throwing in several extra parts
motor looks complete and is not stuck
I have pics on my phone I can send to yours or an email.
just wondering what it might be worth as I'm buying to resell..
Also wondering if the box off a 47-53 3/4ton is same as the 40s?
any input appreciated..Todd 218-256-8775

Truck is worth whatever someone is willing to pay at point of sale.

Factory flatbed... questionable.

47-53 bed is definetely different than 1940 bed. 1940 bed is 48.5 inches wide. 1947-53 bed is at least 50 inches wide.

Does the back rail on the flatbed have Chevrolet stamped into it? Script or block letters?

Does the truck have long or short running boards. Many trucks of the era were shipped without beds. The new owner would send them out or make their own.

Now getting back to the running boards... some trucks shipped without beds came with short boards that bolt to the front fenders, and appear cutoff or scuared off just behind the cab. Trucks that got a traditional bed had the running boards going from the front to rear fenders with a bed apron under the bed.

It was NOT UNCOMMON for trucks of this era to ship with/out a bed box, but come with the full running boards and fenders attached.

Looking at an ebay add that is definetely not linked to this thread... It would be difficult to make money reselling that truck in one piece. When all else fails, paint it re-sell red

The good:
has extremely rare radio head cut into the dash. The radio head is worth the current bid on the truck.

The bad:
Truck is missing title

The ugly:
Extremely rough condition with plenty of rust inside and out
