im having some trouble getting my rear drums off of my 49 3800. I took the screws out of the front and tried hitting the drum around the lugs i got one to wiggle a bit but it feels to me like the brakes are holding them up. The parking brake is free and lose. Is there any way to losen the rear brakes? Can anyone help me out?
The rear brake adjusters are on the backside of the backing plate. There are two adjusters per side, one on each end of the wheel cylinder. You'll need a 5/8 socket to back them off. This procedure should be in your shop manual.
