I bought a new canceller , installed it and nothing changed. A visual inspection of the other parts seemed ok, but I didn't take them apart from the innards of the steering column. This is on a 1966
3/4 ton p/u. Anything I should look for that I missed to resolve this?
I didn't take the other items in the steering column apart cause I wasn't sure I could get them back together. At least right now, I have turn signals, I just have to remember to cancel them manually. So...... help. | | |

there are cancel springs.They fit into the plastic switch assembly.There are left and right springs which should be available at the auto-parts store.

Are you sure there are springs on the 66 truck, and if so, what will they look like? I havent't heard any crunching type noise when I turn the wheel.
Would anyone have a drawing of how all the parts
go together in the column, so once I tear it down, I can get it back together. Or,can someone out there draw me a simple sketch of the innards.
That would really help, or if all else fails, show me where I can get a book that has that info in it. Ill probably need it for other adventures along the way. :-) | | |
#92892 09/24/2002 2:54 PM | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | I believe there are replaceable springs on the part that the turn-signal lever ataches to.They are a little round wire looking piece which has a little hook on one end and it snaps in place and that the cancel cam bumps on the loop(circular part) to cancel the switch.
