My problem is that I've lost 2 condensers shortly after starting the engine. The first time I can't explain, the other may have been caused by a spark plug wire that I left disconnected that may have arched on the distributer body, damaging the condenser. My question before i start going through a ton of condensers is, what could cause a condenser to go out? And, how could my loose spark plug wire theory be true? I've always thought condensers are much more durable than that, or at least somewhat resiliant to that. Well anyway...whatever info you guys can give me would help. Thanks, JON | | |

Condensers go bad with age. You may just have gotten one that had been sitting around long enough for it to break down. Anyway, they're cheap enough to try another one. Best regards, Jacques
