For anyone looking for something to do on March 10th, gonna be at a demo in Berryville VA, basic metalshaping skills, including forming, fitting and trimming patch panels, applying lead to body seams (by Tom Mancuso)

Hey....a fella's got to practice up for Homecoming, right?

Interesting, I'll see if I can come.
Working on my firewall and floor now, trying to figure out how to make them meet again and have room for the bellhousing. I have a better than average understanding of sheet metal work but not as good as I need to be for this sort of stuff.

This is just over a week away,
I still expect to be there.
From the HAMB thread it starts at 10:00?
Where in Berryville is it?

I'm to bring a rear fender, should I spot blast around the rusty end or bring it as is? Anything else I should bring, like a hammer and dolly rack?

It starts at about 10, I believe the address is 607 East Main street (or route 7 business) I wouldn't worry with blasting the rear fender, we'll want to see the rust in all its glory! wink

It's up to you on the hammer rack, we are planning some hands-on, so some extras may come in handy...

I should add that Tom Mancuso had a scheduling conflict and will be unable to attend, so the Lead application demo will be another time..

I was there this morning ready to pound on some metal. Got my days mixed up (not the first time). Fortunatly, I don't live very far from B'ville.

O.J., a very nice guy, showed me around his shop. See you all tomorrow.

Thanks to OJ for hosting the meet, to James for the welding demo, and most of all to those who gave up a nice, sunny Sunday afternoon to come learn some metalshaping! Great to meet some new folks/put some names to faces..

Such a great session! OJ's hospitality and generosity was great. Robert, your ability to stretch and shrink metal into the shape you want it just astounds me. It is truly an art!

Really good to meet Grigg and the other guys. Now to put into practice some of the techniques I learned.

Thanks to everyone that made it happen!

I also had a great time and good to meet folks!
Learned some great stuff, the biggest is about tin snips. I guess I might have figured all that out by now or could have with some thought but sure was nice to have it explained so well. I'll remember which ones are which and how to use them properly from now on.

Robert is a great teacher, really understands the subject, and presents it very well.

Thanks again,
Grigg

Thanks for the kind words fellas.. It was good to meet some more Stovebolters, put some faces to the names, and to share some rust repair methods. For anyone who wasn't able to attend, here's a sample of what you missed:
