| | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 118 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 118 | bought the power plus 20 wirirng kit for my 48 gmc, need to power fuse box, there is a red wire that says 12 v battery and it tells me to hook to batt. terminal to ignition switch, i already ran a wire from positive post to batt. on switch, not sure if this is right, or can i hook wire that say 12v battery to ignition2 on switch...also feed for headlight switch, where to get power for that? | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1,624 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2005 Posts: 1,624 | The fuse box should have two feeds of positive 12 volts. Unswitched (hot all the time and switched (hot only when key is in any position other than start or off. Hot all the time will run your lights thru a fuse. The hot all the time feed is usually connected to the battery/ generator terminal on the selenoid or the feed side of your ammeter. Switched power you get off the run position of your key switch. Please be sure to fuse all circuits. The generator or alternator is not fused in the fuse box but rather with a so called fusible link or maxi type fuse in the output wire.
