i think these would look very out of place on a 1/2 ton but how about a 1-ton steak body?
is the wheel cutout different between 4100 and 6500? becuase my tires are 33" tall. only 2" or so shorter than a 4100 ( while a 6500 are 40" tall i think)
im thinking if a 35" tall tire looks ok in the wheel wells then maybe a 33" would be ok too! and i dont have to worry about mismatch to any back fenders seeing as there wont be any...
i found a real clean set for sale with fenders/hood core support/grill THE WORKS!

Thanks!

The 1 Ton Long bed PU fenders looked very similiar but were much larger than the 1/2 & 3/4 ton due to the 17 inch rims.
It is possible that some had larger rims which required a large fender with the front portion cut out more for clearance of the larger tires.
Check the gallery for pictures of the different fenders. Also check the Vin number for the original weight design. | | | | Joined: May 2012 Posts: 271 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2012 Posts: 271 | my understanding was that 1 ton and down were the same and 1.5 ton and up were the same?
maybe thats true of same overall shape but the cutout clearance for the wheel varies???
i was thinking since the 4100 and 3800 are so close ( 33 inch dia ture vs 35 ish i think) that if it looks ok for 4100 then maybe ok for 3800... def not for 1/2 ton with a 28.5" tire.. | | | | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 224 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 224 | On my 3800 I tried to match tire heights when changing over to tubeless. I went with a 265/70R17. That's about 31.5" tall. driver side fenderpassenger side profileI wanted room for my hands in case I ever had to change a tire.

I'm more wondering if there are differences between the big bolts. im figuring if the big fenders are the same and they look good on a 4100 with a 34.5" diameter tire then they would probably look good on my 3800 with 33" tires.
i think they would look out of place on a 1/2 ton but my 1 ton with bigger tires has more in common with a 4100 1-1/2 ton than a 1/2 ton with short tires. | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 15 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 15 | I built my 2 ton 53 on an 86 dually frame. The 33" tires fit perfectly. Way nicer than in the 1/2 ton fenders. I widened my fenders 2" to fit the wider track. Sorry I don't know how to post pics on this site. | | | | Joined: May 2012 Posts: 271 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2012 Posts: 271 | buying a cab and fenders off a 6500 so i guess i can do a mock up soon! | | |
