For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 206 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 206 | i removed my manifolds cause the exhaust flange was busted and i noticed that the freeze plug above the throttle link bell crank has a tiny crack in the center and a few drops sitting tricking out.
can i replace my manifold then deal with the plug or do i need to take care of that first?
i think found a thread on here saying to use a dome plug and not a cup? is this correct | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy drew_vigil, I would want to deal with the "freeze plug" with as much room as possible, and use the same style plug as the one you remove. A little sealer around the outside edge when you install the "freeze plug" wouldn't hurt. To remove the plug, just drive a chisel or screwdriver into the center of it and pry it out, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 206 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 206 | is this the one I want? brass vs steel?
