Forgive me if im Just asking a question that has been asked before. Have 900-20 bias ply on the truck, im helping to move, Dayton Spoke Rims, The Bias Ply are a little Expensive, Accuride has demountable rims for Tubeless and tube type tires, are keeping the original spokes, so can we just switch out the tube type rims for the tubeless and then Put on radials? and are
900r-20/14 the Correct Tires to Use????

Hy Cal78, your question is a little confusing, but I'll try and give you an answer. As far as I know all the rims made for Dayton wheels are interchangeable, tube and tubeless type. As to the size of tires, you have numerous choices, hope that helps.

Cal78 -- Don't worry about asking questions that have been asked before -- we don't mind.

Just to echo 3B, though, might be helpful to know what truck (year, size, etc) you're referring to.

Once you determine what you're looking for, check around for good used tubeless Dayton wheels (rims) before you spend the big bucks on new ones.

For whatever it's worth, I went from tubed bias plys to tubeless radials (have to change rims, too) on my Dayton spoke truck ('72 9500). The improvement (ride, handling, etc) was remarkable. My sizes were 11.00R20 to 12R22.5, though.

If I understand the question right Cal78 wants to install tubeless radials. If that is what he wants to do, he needs to buy 22.5 open center wheels. I would recommend 8.25x22.5 wheels if he he has enough clearance on the steering axle. Second choice would be a 7.50x22.5 if he gets too close to the tie rod ends. The counterpart of a 9.00x 20 is a 10R22.5. Another option is using what we refer to as a low profile 22.5. The size is 295/75R22.5. Size wise they are about he same as a 9.00x20. 295/75R22.5 is the standard of the trucking industry now and therefor they can be bought both new and used at a more reasonable price than any odd size and they come in 14 and 16 ply rating.
