The seller notes that it has a heavy duty bumper and diamond plating in the bed of the truck as these were original to 'ranch' models. Its a nice looking truck,has a 235 and 4 on the floor. I've just not heard that Apache came in a special ranch version. Anyone heard about a Ranch Apache. I'm no expert but from the looks of it I would say it is a 1959 Apache stepside... but I'm no expert on these old trucks. Love to hear what you think. Tx. To the best of my knowledge, 59 Chevrolet trucks came with a wood floor in both the stepside and fleet side models. It was not uncommon for a purchaser to put a steel plate in the bottom of the bed to protect it or cover the holes after the wood rotted out or got broken out. I have a 73 K10 that I did that to while the truck was fairly new to protect the wood. I would guess that you would find the wood bottom or what is left of it if you looked under the truck.
Someone might know something I don't though.

If it has diamond plate in the bed, it was added aftermarket, the factory bed floor would be wood, though it isn't uncommon to see these old trucks with a sheetmetal peice covering the wood floor. I'm inclined to beleive the bumper is most likely aftermarket as well.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | as said above, there was no version called a 'ranch truck', and there was no 'Apache' [58-61 Chev light truck. 1/2T. 3/4T or 1T] that came with a metal bed floor, especially not diamond plate - when Chev started using metal floors they were wide ribbed sheet metal .... a rear bumper was an option, but not a "heavy duty" one .... use caution on that one if the seller is handing out that kind of BS
