I looked at most of the block number sites and this didn't really match anything:

Engine block casting numbers will tell a better story. Here is a link that will tell you were to look for these numbers, then we can sort it out from there

Date code would seem to indicate March 19, 1950 or 60

I agree with March 19, but with the "848" head it won't/can't be 1950...

You have a high pressure engine, based on the format of the engine serial number (photo 2). So, the year would be March 19th 1960 (the only high-pressure year ending in 0, the last digit in the date code in photo 1).

Your other photos are not identifying codes. That code with the 848 is not a head casting code. However, it is highly likely that you have a 3836848 head casting code.

Post the head and block casting codes, and the head and block date casting codes and you'll be able to ID the year of the head and block (those are high-pressure engine casting-code locations).

These are low-pressure engine casting-code locations.

So it looks like a 1960's 235 with the 'better' heads?

Would these heads be interchangeable with a mid 50's block? This engine was not running. Another engine I have is a runner, but if these 'better' heads will fit I'll swap them for the gain.

3769716 is a 58-62 235 block casting code
1960 date code in your earlier post.

3836848 is a 58-62 235 head casting code
The date casting code will finish this off.

That head will work on any 235 block for 1954 onwards (and maybe on 1953 blocks)
