Stopped in briefly to offer a hand with repairs or any tools he might need. Come to find out that Horace, the property owner, was renting out part of the barn to a man whom ran a small machine shop there for about 6 years. Some time ago, the renter left off with a woman to another part of the country, with no intention of returning. Horaces' letters to the man were returned with a note, " Sell off whatever is needed to cover rent overdue" Well,.... I picked up a very nice Bridgeport mill with all the tooling, as well as a nice Lathe with lots of tooling also. If anyone is interested I will be there tomorrow and the next day helping Horace sort out the rest of the equipment, making lists of serial numbers and specs so he can list them for sale on different websites. I saw about 4 surface grinders, a few arbor presses, a large punch press, and some job specific machines. Horace is only interested in getting back the overdue rent and making the space available to re-rent. So the prices are very affordable. Brian

Mostly worked with the arbor presses (5 of them) and the large punch press. I did not get to the lathe yet, but will look for a three jaw chuck and let you know what the dims on it are and such. The head on it seems to have a collet like chuck on it with a 3 inch opening? THe tail stock is about 4 feet from the head when it is slid all the way back. I have sent pics to those who have asked for em. Since photobucket changed their format, I can't seem to figure out how to upload anymore pics from my computer,,, or i would post them here. I am able to send them via email though. Brian

And it would be cheaper on both of us to just have me run to a local place and buy a 35 lb weight to have it shipped. Wish I was closer!! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 . | . The equipment this guy has was all for working on different types of locks. I did not see any sheet metal working equipmnent yet. As far as presses, there is the one punch press, and multiple arbor presses. One shop press, but the bottom section that is USUALLY adjustable to diferent. right now it is only 14" in height. Brian

I'm nearly certain that his are better quality which probably makes them heavier, so shipping would be costly to say the least. | | |
