I would like your reccomendation on who to get one from and what type to buy. I'm restoring it back to OEM style, not hot rodding it. I seem to be having a nit of a problem figuring out which one to order. A 12 circuit or 18 circuit type. Painless Wiring they say is an O.K. Company but it still a bit confusing.

OEM. How would I get past that. Would I just connect the wires from the "new" harness into some sort of connector and use the old connector plug? This is what been stopping me from runnung out and buying a new harness. I know most are not refundable, so I don't want to waste my money.

#90730 03/26/2004 6:54 AM | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | Jake - if you buy a harnes from anyone who sez they're selling you a harness for a 60 GMC [might hafta call and see if they have GMC, not just Chev], it will have all the proper plugs required, regardless of the particular style of wire used - the "modernization" is usually plastic coated wire rather than older styles, and the style of outside cable wrap - also addition of "fancy" stuff like fuses and turnsigs and alternator, all of which you've prolly got anyway, or digital dash stuff - go for the best price from any reputeable supplier, unless you want a "perfectly OEM" restoration, and then look for that kinda harness

When you buy one of the OEM-style harnesses, they come with everything needed to replace every wire and connector in your truck. You get all new wires and connectors. Unless of course you want to save some of the old stuff... | | |
