For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 46 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 46 | I was wondering if anyone had used a seat from a salvage yard with the original seat riser. Also what seats would seat my truck the best. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 324 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 324 | I have a 51 which should be about the same inside space as yours. First thing I did was to cut a story stick that would represent inside seat riser space the donor seat will occupy. Then take it to the salvage yard and you are guaranteed it will fit the space. In my case I chose a 40/60 bench from 2001 Buick LeSabre with built in seat belts. I did a little fabrication work on the metal base of the seats and it fits nicely into the original seat riser space. Hope this helps | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 13 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 13 | I have used a 88-98 silverado seat several times Take the origional risor out and use the latemodel seat complete with brackets | | |
