In the process of tearing my '49 down and updating.

Are the stock lever shock worth anything?? Trying to decided if I should unbolt them from the rear end or just hit them with the skinny wheel.

if they still work, just clean them up and throw a coat of paint on them, unless you want to convert to modern shocks

Lever shocks are dangerous and outlawed.......

Please send them to me so I can dispose of them properly. I'll bolt them to my truck so know one will get pinched by them.

Hahahahahaha. I love 'em!

Someone would probably buy them from you for a restoration.

Very nice looking original truck. Be sure to save all your old original parts. You might decide on a full restore someday or pass it on to someone would like to do a full restore. Looks like a great candidate for one. I see you replaced the fuel pump, but there are rebuild kits for the original glass bowl pump. Lots of folks would love to have that original too. You could rebuild it and keep it on the shelf for a spare. Same for the lever action shocks. They do have value.

Good luck with it, it looks like a beauty and full of family history too!

I can definately appreciate a fully restored stock truck.Maybe someday I will do a complete restoration on this one.

The stock fuel pump is now cleaned up and hanging on my shop wall.

I can't get rid of the lever type shocks. I've tried to sell them for practically nothing on several different sites and ended up throwing a dozen or so away.

They do cost around $100 give or take (if my memory is correct) to have them rebuilt, which would probably last for a lifetime.
