I put a Vortec 4.8L engine in my 54 Chevy Pickup along with a HD Aluminum Radiator. The Radiator has the same shape and design as the OEM radiator with the Lower Radiator outlet on the passenger side.

Regardless if I use the original thermostat housing which is pointed out towards the side or the after market style which is a straight nipple pointing towards the front, it doesn't matter. Making a lower radiator hose that works seems impossible.

Any ideas here ?
Has anyone does this swap before and how did you handle the lower radiator hose ?

Photos please..

Thank you

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for but I'd head to a local parts store and start looking at hoses that would work or that you could cut to work. Te other route would be to purchase a flexible lower corrugated rad hose found at summit, jegs or the likes

I'd buy some radiator hoses that are the correct size to connect to the motor and the radiator, then buy some metal tubing the correct size. You may have to have a couple sections of metal tubing connected with hoses but you should be able to make it. Once you have things made up you could even fabricate the complete pipe assembly out of metal and just use pieces of hose to connect to the nipples on the motor and the radiator.
