I'm sure there are people on here that has raked their trucks but can't seem to find any information on the degree of rake. Is there anybody on here that has done this? If so what degree of rake did you go and also can you send me a link to your pictures so I may see if I even want to do this. I am thinking about dropping the overall ride height about an inch from stock. Thanks in advance.

The amount of rake depends on what you like personally. There is no set formula or degree, and it depends on the way the vehicle looks too.

I usually like 1/2" to 1" difference in running board height from front to back, for a visible rake. That depends greatly on what you like though.

I'm one of the guys that like a little rake (or broom) to the rear. The rear of my panel is lowered 2 1/2" and sitting stock on the front.

Achipmunk,

I like the rake you have on there, just enough to notice. Should have seen me trying to visualize it with a forward rake. it was a funny site. There's a ole willy truck, I think it's a willy, that I've seen a few times but mostly at the car show they have at a drag strip around here. He has his rake like 4 or 5 if not more inches to the back like that. To me it just doesn't look right but then again I don't know anything about drag racing so he might have it like that for the track?

BC52,

When I was looking at mine this past weekend I was measuring about 8 inches from the ground. So if I do a small rake I might start the front at 7 or 7 1/2 and come up to 8 or 8 1/2 in the rear.

Mo,

I don't like a ton of rake so I understand where your coming from. I'm just wanting a small amount to show a small muscle car look but definitely not going to be a drastic rake.

Yes, my truck has about an inch of rake front to rear. However, my front filler pan under the grille is about 6 to 6.5" off the ground, so that makes it look way different too.

1bad51,

Man I love the way your truck sits. You by any chance have the frame measurements when it was bare frame? Reason I'm asking is that I know after the frame settles and the weight of everything on the frame it'll drop some but I'm not sure by how much. I'll be able to make some changes to it as I'm going with air bags.
