I ordered the voltage reducer from chevyduty that was said to go, "inline" I assumed that meant inline between the sender in the tank and the gauge. It conected to the sender wire fine. Shound I have installed this reducer, resister, on the hot lead that is now 12 V or was I correct in putting it in the sender line that connects to the tank?

zachscc,

The reducer should go between the hot lead and the gauge.

zachscc,
Let us know what happens after you go with Tim's suggestion. Also make sure you have good grounding and strong connection throughout.

I put the reducer in the hot line to the gauge, ran a new sender wire and ran a new ground wire, and walla! it works flawlessly! Thanks a million guys.
