So much so that here lately it will stick open. I know the linkage is several rods hooked togather, and held by an "S" shaped piece bolted to the engine. But how much slop is to much? Also has anyone added washers or bushings to the linkage joints to tighten up the play? | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 841 | mine did that after a engine swap many moons ago and i had one of the linkage pieces on backward or upside down. it was sticking and not right first time i went on a test run. worth a check. | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 | The important thing is that you get proper throttle response when the accelerator pedal is depressed. If that's ok I wouldn't worry about a "little" slop. And yes, I have used a single washer at linkage points to tighten up the connection so the rod doesn't vibrate quite as much.
