#88510 04/04/2005 3:21 PM | Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 53 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 53 | Brought my new, actually old, '69 C-10 home a while back and noticed that when you turn on the parking lights or headlights that the turn signal indicators in the dash light up, but the front parking lights don't work. It also looks like the turn signals are flashing the parking light filament in the front. There are no apparent crossed wires at the grill connections. Anybody got any ideas on what might be going on? I haven't recieved the wiring diagrams that I ordered yet, so I can't even use them to try to figure it out right now.

The power from the park light switch is running across the filament to the common side then across the turn signal filament, then through the turn indicator bulb on the dash and using it's ground. The fix could be a simple as cleaning the base of the bulbs and the sockets. If that doesn't fix it then the socket is not grounding to the frame. | | |

Of course you realize that corrosion is not something that we have much problem with up here in the great, white north! I'll check that out as soon as I get the chance.
