check the GM 53 info kit, and a shop manual here - a shop manual is a very worthwhile investment

Found exploded view of it under 48-51 truck manual.Same manual has a second trans with exploded view with a shorter tail end .Are gears the same on all from 48 to 53 or later? I must get a manual for it my Motors book has its a muncie from 30s till 1950s .no pics .The place i get my parts locally is very cranky with customers who do not have all their ducks in a roe. thank you for your help.

the only '52 transmissions available were the standard 3 speed and the [shorter] optional 4 speed
I believe you'll find the standard truck 3 speed was a Muncie unit [GM corporate] until about 1968, which doesn't tell your cranky parts place much, get the numbers off the trans and see if that doesn't make them even crankier wink
