During my 1954 Chevrolet 1 ton restoration, I'm trying to do as much as I can myself. Only partially because I'm cheap but I'd also like to know how. I need to rebuild both the starter and generator. How complicated is this going to be and do I need any specailzed equipment to do them. Also need to know where to buy the kits.

Bruce,

The rebuild of these components is pretty straightforward. I recommend Classic Generator for your kit. A volt ohm meter is handy to have.

Classic generator

Here is a little write up I did on my generator rebuild:

Generator rebuild.

Good luck!
