Hello, new forum member. 1955 Chevy 3100 series 2 short step side, new to me. Truck came with poor Walmart mirrors, I've ordered new repro ones but I need some help to position as the old marks are not evident. Could someone do a rough sketch of location or tell me where I could find this information? Thanks for your help. Doug

Doug - if you take off the inner door panels you can see the reinforcing plate inside that has the threads to attach the mirrors .... the 55 assembly manual is available from all the vendors [US or CDN], worthwhile to get one

Aha! Good idea! I thought they were just screwed on (new ones not here yet). I'll check if the plates are still there tomorrow. Thanks.

check the pic of MAS8 here, they're special oval head machine screws that need to be ordered separately

and welcome to the garage, always an open invitation to put up your story and link up some pics in the Welcome and DITY forums ... we like pictures grin
