I took the gas tank out of the cab and bought one of the PE tank kits from Jim Carter. I got it all installed and with the tank full, half or almost empty it will sometimes read full, sometimes almost empty at the gauge. I am wondering if I have a grounding problem, however I am also wondering about the ohms. I think that the '66 should have a 90 ohm sender and that is what is in it.. Any ideas?

The sending unit was another story. I had two new sending untis, one for the new tank, and one for the old tank. Take the actual rheostat piece off the one for the old tank and put it on the new one. That's the piece in the middle that the float arm attaches to. It looks like a curved spring. This will give you the correct ohms for the guage. My swap went without a hitch.
