My 55.1 came with a radio delete plate and I have never seen a picture of a radio for my truck. I want to search the swap meets and shows for a radio. I plan on installing for looks and putting in a remote hidden cd changer.
Does anyone have pictures of the type if radio I would need for my 55.1?
Thanks, Chris

That is perfect. I am assuming the little black piece is the mounting bracket. I plan on using mine just for looks so fabricating a bracket of some sorts shouldn't be difficult(famous last words).
Thanks, Chris

Comes off the left side of the main Radio body and attaches to an existing dashboard brace in the speedo area. There are detailed instructions in the "Chevrolet Accessories Installation Manual for 1954 Passenger Cars and All trucks" which many of the venders carry.

I have one of these radios and I am thinking of rebuilding it and putting it on Ebay. The problem is, I don't know what that panel is all about!

The foam seal on the front of the plate is totally degraded (does anyone know of a reproduction foam seal - the 47-53 truck seal is different). http://home.nycap.rr.com/lederman/images/54truckradio.jpg The plate is held to the radio by the bolts over the two tuning posts. Let me know if you want more photos and/or scan of the repair manual diagram/picture of the radio. Tim

One question that I do have though is sometimes I see these radios with no Chev symbol and sometimes it is there. I am wondering is the GMC version had no symbol at all.

The numbers and logo are often faded. Tim, do you, or one of you guys, have a electrical schematic for your radio that you can e-mail ?

I too am interested in a reproduction/ replacment seal around speaker bracket. If anyone knows of them, please let me know.
