Someday I'll take time to sell my story and follow the others. Until then I thought a few photos would do.

Excellent look with the lighter than body color roof. I generally don't appreciate 2 tone burbs, but I'm willing to make an exception. And you obviously spent some serious coin on the chrome trim around all of the windows.
Now can you please explain the title of your post? it is not making sense at this time.:)

Thanks K10! I wanted to keep the theme of the 2 Tones of those years which was an option and also selecting a factory color scheme from the 50's( Non GM). My burb was commissioned by the Navy in California built by GM factory in LA, thus being ID tagged by GM as "Nomenclature".

Nice looking Suburban.

Can you post a photo of the GM tag that has the word "Nomenclature" on it? Thanks.

A two-tone color combination (Fathom Green upper color and Channel Green lower color) was standard color on Carryall Suburbans from 47-49, but not from 50-55. No other two-tone color combinations were GM options on any Carryal Suburbans from 47-55. However, special order colors/combinations were supposedly quite common. The military vehicles, of course, we're ordered with whatever special colors the military wanted.

There is a letter to the editor in the recent issue of Vintage Truck regarding the NOMENCLATURE tag. A web search provides information about this tag being used on military vehicles - the tag was put on the vehicle after/when it was delivered to the motor-pool.

ahhh, no puzzle, the military always put ID tags on things and everything has a military backwards 'nomenclature', check the definition, it isn't a "nomenclature vehicle" it's an ex military "Truck, Pickup" .... I wouldn't think it was a Navy truck, unless you have proof of that, the USAF had blue trucks, the Navy gray
