How hot should brake drums get in normal driving - not a lot of braking. Mine got quite hot to the tough in a 10 mile drive and I'm wondering about the safety. The axle is a dually rear axle from a mid-70's to 80's one ton.

I would jack up the rear end and see how much drag there is on the wheels spinning freely, perhaps they're adjusted too tight?
