The gear seems to be brass and pinned to the dist. shaft. Is there an easy repair? Could I juse JB Weld to secure it?
Auto Zone has a good price for a rebuilt, but they don't have any available. | | |

For instance, if the drive pin is 1/8", drill the hole out to 5/32" and use a corresponding-size roll pin. The roll pin is spring steel, so it will be plenty strong to drive the shaft.
