Hi,
The gear that drives the cable...the driven gear.
It is an all steel gear, it is the driven gear with 15 teeth.
The one the speedometer cable connects too.
The end the cable extension rod attaches too broke off.
I will take pictures tomorrow.
The gear fits down inside the rear bearing retainer. Through the left side at a 45 degree angle. It has a 6 inch extension on it and a 90 degree angle drive on top of that, which is actually what the speedometer cable connects too.
The 6 inch extension comes up between the parking brake drum and the transmission case too just above the parking brake support arm/bracket. Then the angle drive sets on top of that extension.
Inside the extension is a steel rod that has a ridge running the length of the rod, rod is about 3/16 diameter. The rod acts as the internal extension that drives the angle drive on top from the driven gear in the trans bearing retainer.
I have another Clark 205V which does not have this type of rear bearing retainer or speedometer adapter.
Also, from curiosity question/comment: The shift tower on the trans in the truck is very different from the shift tower on my spare 205V trans, but same shift pattern, any comments. Cases have same casting numbers (5455)
The only difference is my truck is a 1952 454-30 (3 ton) with 1500 series U-Joints (Large "T" caps). The spare came out of a 1952 370(2.5 ton) and has the smaller U-Joints. But same parking brake setup.
My spare Clark 205VO has speedometer drive comes out left side of rear bearing retainer at a level angle.
