I'm new to the forum, and have a question I thought you guys might be able to help with. I recently bought a 1966 K10, but quickly learned that something wasn't right. The cab was from a C10, and I can't figure out exactly what the frame is from. It had an old gas line going to the rear of the frame, it has short frame extensions riveted to the rear of the framerails, and the radiator support brackets that are riveted to the front of the frame have rubber mounts in them, rather than the solid ones I see on the K10s. From the partial VIN, I know its a 66 Chevy, and I know that 66 suburban E-brake cables won't fit it. Could it be from a panel truck? I would have thought that panel trucks would have the same E-brake cables as suburbans? Thanks for any help you can give me. Dunno about the cables, 66-72 was different ebrake setup than 63-5. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 6 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 6 | Thanks for the reply. Also, when the PO put the pickup cab on it, they added some rear cab mounts a couple of inches behind the original ones on the frame, and about 1 1/2 inches higher. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | Do you have any pictures of the suspect frame? | | |
