So here goes, does any one have thier spare tire mounted to the outside of the box on the riders side in front of the the rear fender? My truck is a 37 and I've got a original spare tire carrier for that location coming. If so, could some photos be sent? Thank you, Al | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 | APV 60 - I have never seen a spare tire carrier on the side of the bed in front of the left rear fender, but have seen a few pictures. There is enough room to mount the tire on a carrier in that spot without the dimple in the fender. I think you will probably find when you take all of the surrounding things into consideration - the door opening, the fender and the height that you will have to mount the carrier, it will be down to a few inches one way or the other - not too close to the fender, snug as possible to the bed and enough clearence from the door with consideration to someone who would be entering the door. Where did you acquire the mount? Just curious. Joe

He sent me photos of it mounted on a 37 0.5 ton truck he is building. He is in the process of cutting it off the box and then bead blasting it for me. It my not be original but it was spot welded to an original 37 box on the riders side in front of the riders rear fender. There does not appear to be a fender dimple for it. What tank did you guys use and how did you mount it? Has anyone used the original tank and just relocated it? Haven't measured yet. | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 303 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: May 2010 Posts: 303 | | | |
