The original (?) cables and clevises have siezed, no more adjustment. NOS parts and new replacements seem to be long enough (cable), but about 3" too short (cable sheath or outer housing).
Has anyone else run into this, and if so, how did you get work around it?

Are you maybe not installing the threaded rod that screws to the cable end?Just a thought.Babe | | | | | Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 240 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 240 | Babe, I've tried NOS from Classic Chevy and replacements from Jim Carter, both had out casings that were too short to make the connection between the axle and the frame mounted bracket (almost taut with the axle supported, no give for axle movement while driving). The cable itself seems long enough.
I'm installing the right side the same as the left is assembled. Not sure why my truck is different.

I first got parking cables for my '53 from Classic and they would not fit...cheap Chinese junk. I returned them and bought some from inline which were identical to the originals, more expensive but well worth it...they fit great.
