Well, I started in late February and finally took my '53 3100 on it's inaugural ride with the T5 5 speed and the 3:73 rear from a '56 wagon. Wow...what a difference. Although the truck still moves with the speed an agility of a fully loaded garbage truck, it can now hold its own on the highway, and accelerate a bit faster now.

After I got all the parts together and prepped to go in, it actually went pretty smoothly. I ended up not being able to use the driveshaft I had, but Fleetpride made me a brand new one for $225, so I was pretty happy about that.

Looking forward to actually driving the truck a bit more now.

Back on the road. Now doesn't that feel better?
