I'm replacing the drums on my 52' and will need new brake shoes front and rear. Anyone have any brand suggestions? Are the fronts and rears the same? My local Car Quest only has a part number for the fronts and they don't have any info on the shoes(non-metallic, manual, etc). Thanks

You need to get shoes with FF on the edge of the linings. I understand Carquest qualifies for this. I cant understand why they dont list the rear. Napa shows B 228 as the # on the front. It shows B-9 on the rear but thev rear are available in relined only & not new. I believe they use the same number system except for the prefix letter. They are not the sam front to rear. The rear are narower.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Does Napa have the correct shoes? The person at Car Quest said they have an 11x 1 3/4 shoe available for the rear. How about Raybestos?

Rockauto has shoes for both - it looks like both new and relined. Rockauto

Just bought rear shoes and all wheel cylinder kits at O'Reilly's. Shoes cost about $23. Don't know what brand, whatever O lists. Jim
